Black and White

Black and white photography is, for lack of a better word, one of the most “seductive” ways of shooting and capturing photos. After shoots, when I look over my photos, I often feel the temptation to make a photo black and white, pump up the contrast, cover up all the imperfections with a lack of color, and claim it’s “artsy.”

But I think that’s taking the easy way out. Black and white photography is SO seductive it’s hard to know when to stop pushing the photo. In the end, like most things, it’s about balance, temperance, and knowing when something simply doesn’t need to be worked on anymore.
